A recording CD of the installation work created for the "Garbage Poop Exhibition" has been released! It's a limited edition. You can experience the atmosphere of the exhibition, and the sound image blends into your life as background music. We recommend listening to this before going to the exhibition! (Store Manager)

The "sound recording album" of the works on display at the "Garbage Poop" exhibition currently being held at 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT has been completed. We are releasing a collection of sound works that allows you to enjoy the "sound" of the works, recording all four sound installations created by Shuta Hasunuma and Yoshimoto Masuda.

The first track, "Sheet Vibration," is a recording of the sound produced by a sound sculpture installed at the entrance of 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT. The sound is modulated using the weight of the sticker backing used for admission pass stickers, modulating the sound using the weight of the sticker backing produced over the course of a day, from opening time to closing time.

The second track, "Feedback "variation" & Sheet Vibration," is a recording of an installation in the gallery space. The sound of trees in the courtyard, created by veig in collaboration with Kensuke Kageyama of Saitama University, was recorded as acoustic emission (AE). The sound recorded changes depending on the weight of the admission stickers issued over the six-month period of the exhibition. The opening and closing of the exhibition's restrooms acts as a sound output sensor, triggering feedback through howling, creating a sound sculpture.

In the "Leaking Garden" of the Sunken Court, sounds were collected using acoustic emissions (AE) from trees recorded by Kensuke Kageyama, and the ambient sounds equivalent to nine hours of the facility's opening time were played in the courtyard. The third track, "Beam of Voice "variation"," is a field recording of the nine hours of data compressed into approximately 20 minutes for the album.

There is a piece in which Shuta Hasunuma plays on trash cans at Tokyo Midtown. The recordings he makes are on display as sound-making trash cans. The fourth track, "Box "variation"," was recorded at the location where the trash cans are installed.

This album allows you to appreciate the sound of an exhibition documenting the concept of "pooploop" through various angles, using sound as a medium. The photographs are taken by Kensuke Kageyama himself, using sensors he attached to trees. The design was by Onodai (windandwindows) and the mastering was by Stéphane Mathieu (Schwebung Mastering).
