NADiff a/p/a/r/t is closing. This cassette tape was created to commemorate the 10th anniversary of our opening. The artwork was directed by artist Hiroshi Isogai.

I used to often drop by this shop in Omotesando on my way home from junior high and high school, and would just browse. At the time, it felt more like I was experiencing human culture and thought rather than art. I also worked part-time at Nadiff when I was a student. One of the jobs at a bookstore is to carry and arrange the books and art books that arrive in heavy cardboard boxes. (I also worked part-time at a record store, which is more or less the same job.) I remember the many times I felt my spine straighten up when I came into contact with books that were filled with emotion.

I learned a lot not only about art, but also about contemporary music. At NADiff, I also learned a lot about Japanese ambient music, which is now hugely popular worldwide. At the time, I was really swimming in a sea of ambient and noise music.

I still have so many of these cassette tapes that I can count them on my fingers. I'm grateful to have been able to record them as a work of art. Thank you for your hard work, NADiff a/p/a/r/t. (Manager: Added February 16, 2025)

This cassette tape was produced in 2019 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the art book shop "NADiff a/p/a/r/t" in Ebisu. It contains newly written music. The artwork, by artist Isogai Hiroshi, features white text printed on a pure white cassette tape. (Store Manager)

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of NADiff a/p/a/r/t, the fourth project in the series, NADiff x 10 ARTISTS, is a collaboration with 10 artists. On January 12, 2019, a cassette containing original music by musician Shuta Hasunuma for NADiff was released.

This long-awaited solo work, produced in the space and location of NADiff a/p/a/r/t, is a cassette album consisting of two tracks, "NAD" and "iff." This will be Hasunuma's first cassette release, and the artwork will be by artist Isogai Hiroshi.
