Shuta Hasunuma Philharmonic: Anthropocene (CD)
Released in 2018, this is the second album by Shuta Hasunuma Philharmonic Orchestra. The cover features a view of the world from an airplane window. Anthropocene refers to the "anthropocene era." Personally, I feel the sound is influenced by his solo album "Melodies." Most of the lyrics and music were written in New York, so the music sounds like it has a sense of spaciousness. There are many songs I like, including "Meeting Place," "Juxtaposition with Tokyo," and "4O," which I highly recommend! (Manager)
Following their previous album, "Time Plays," and performances at Spiral Hall (2017) and Sogetsu Hall (2018) including "Meeting Place" and "Juxtaposition with Tokyo," the band has now released their second album, "Anthropocene," their first in four and a half years. This cutting-edge pop orchestral work resonates with 16 musicians from diverse musical backgrounds. The diverse musical activities, including mixed-gender vocals, rap, piano, euphonium, flugelhorn, saxophone, flute, violin, viola, marimba, steelpan, glockenspiel, synthesizer, guitar, bass, and drums, create a new music that will leave a profound mark on a new geological era.
