Shuta Hasunuma Philharmonic: Time Plays (CD)
This is the first album by Shuta Hasunuma Philharmonic Orchestra, released in 2014. The cover features Goro Nagashima's "Hikaru Yama." I rearranged my solo pieces for the ensemble, and recorded the resulting pieces after a series of live performances. It's a unique album that still has the distinctive sound of the instruments even now. We put a lot of effort into creating the paper jacket and the leaflet inside. The "Hasunuma Shuta Phil" was formed in 2010 based on the five-member Hasunuma Shuta Team.
To date, they have had the opportunity to perform at venues such as Laforet Museum Harajuku, WWW, and Liquid Room, as well as at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, Tokyo Opera City Recital Hall, the National Museum of Art, Osaka, and the Aichi Arts Center.
The highly unique instrumental arrangement includes vocals, rap, piano, synth, bass, guitar, steel pan, marimba, saxophone, euphonium, flugelhorn, violin, viola, and drums. Many cutting-edge musicians, including Gondo Tomohiko, Ito Ken, and Otani Yoshio, participate. Tamaki ROY, Kinoshita Misato, and Hasunuma Shuta create an interwoven vocal ensemble. The powerhouse drummer duo of Ito Ken and Jimanica creates a rhythmic ensemble. Strings, brass, marimba, and steel pan blend together to create a unique orchestral + alpha ensemble.
Each player freely interprets the music and score created by Shuta Hasunuma, who began his career as an electronic musician. The music has been polished over four years through live performances and has been vacuum-packed in the studio, preserving the texture of the live performance!
The resulting work is graceful and nomadic, yet possesses a strong musicality, and no matter what moment you capture, you can sense the rich resonance of the sounds.
