Interferenze Seeds Tokyo 2010
As we enter the 21st century, the possibilities for expression utilizing information technology, as exemplified by media art and sound art, are being explored in new ways not only in urban areas but also in rural areas. One particularly visionary example is Interferenze, a handmade international new art festival based in the southern Italian village of Bisaccia, now in its fifth year. Inspired by this festival's endeavor to create new cultural, social, and economic value on a horizon that transcends experimentation and tradition, analog and digital, and global and local, we are hosting a uniquely Tokyo version, welcoming director Leandro Pisano, who is visiting Japan for the first time.
The first floor space will feature unique DIY works and projects that connect nature, the environment, and electronic media, as well as materials related to the Interferenze Festival. There will also be demonstrations by the artists themselves.
