Appeared at the symposium "Public, Music."

———
For those of us living today, our interactions with music have always been through buying a package, downloading it, singing along at karaoke, or attending a live concert, and have always been through opportunities to come into contact with it as an industry.

Despite this, in recent years, led by local or participatory art projects, the "public" and "music" have gradually come into contact, and new relationships are beginning to form here and there. However, playing music in public spaces still poses various problems.

Does the "public" need "music"?
I imagine that by reexamining our relationship with each other, we may be able to create a space that no one has ever seen before, where society and music can truly intertwine.

We will hold a symposium in which we invite people who are sincerely involved in "music" and "public affairs" from their respective positions to introduce their own activities and deepen our thoughts together. (Ryoichi Kiyomiya, NPO Topping East)
